The Dancers

While in residence at Chashama, I worked with dancer Lauren Newman (Martha Graham, Madeline Hollander, Kristin Draucker) to create two mural-sized works (9’ x 5’ India ink on watercolor paper) that capture the dancer in sequences of movement. This initial project – involving photography, projection, tracing and painting – has led us to further collaboration: we are currently working on a project that attempts to line up the movement of the body with the movement of the artist’s line through dance and projection drawing. We were in residence for this project in January 2018 at JoYA: Air in Spain. You can read more about this project here.
